Tim Wilson's Nascar song

Sarah's mom was a car nut! Here she is tinkering with her 57 T-bird, but wait til you read about the Duesenburg!

ok, not a posed photo, and I bet someone got slugged for taking a picture of her butt in the air... but a cool photo.

Get the rest of the story though, Sarah's mom bought her a Model A and started restoring it for her, around 1967, tore it apart and was getting progress made, joined the Model A club and had a great time, and then her husband died.

Sarah says the hobby probably helped her cope, and in her own words "Oh yeah she bought a Duesenberg with leather straps over the engine for $200 that was in somebody's shed, but sold it for $700. I would go with Mamma to the junkyards and was her 'spotter' for old cars, I was taller than she was...She kept saying she must have been crazy to buy it, but she had always wanted a Duesenberg like Dolores del Rio.

Yup she was pretty awesome
"

wow. That has to be the only Duesy bought and sold by a mom who was into old cars. Who ever heard of another?

Sarah just shared this with me, and all of you, it's a photo of her grandfather in 1921, that kids looks like he's having a great day!

The badge says "Registered Motor Vehicle" !

Papa's name is James Reveley, and his little brother is Hugh Reveley. They both grew up to become doctors like their father Samuel.
Thanks Sarah!

Things I had to take home with me from the swapmeet. Doesn't being at a swapmeet make you realize you have to buy at least one thing that is cool, but you don't need?

Hell no I am not going to work on Carter carbs, but I couldn't pass on this tool set for 20 bucks.

I've never heard of Marvel Mystery Oil Company making anything but oil... so this had to find a home in my garage for 10 bucks
Starett is high quality, and this is accurate to one thousandth of an inch. Perfect for 20 bucks

How one guy entertained himself and friends at the swapmeet while stuck at his booth

a dollar bill on a fishing pole cast into the road between booths

Cox racing fuel

There was still about a half can left in it, and the seller wanted $50 for it.

Marc looked it up, it's 50% methanol, 30% nitromethane, 18% castor oil, and 2% Klotz oil

Keeping a camera handy while out driving about is a good thing, you might spot about anything

You don't see these on the free way ever, especially far from the rich parts of town... and in the below image you can see how much they stand out among normal cars

Cute little tiger tail under the trailer hitch
hand made bumpers... don't see that often in this city with many parts junkyards
from bumper or push bar? And what could you push with an under-powered econo-box?

Even a soccer mom van can be made interesting... found in a parking lot by accident, this one grabbed my attention

wow, this is likely the best video I've seen all week

Keep smiling friends and readers, life can be a lot of trouble at the wrong time, but there is usually humor to be found right here

Thanks to my friend Randy!

Off roading in Moab Utah, with a 95 Crown Vic... huh.

skip to the minute and a half point to avoid the stupid music and just get the interview and closer look at the car

Thanks to Randy!

why are race cars trailered

The same reason that race horses are trailered to horse races
